In his last and most famous work, the agricultural practices, the Corianese abbot Giovanni Antonio Battarra (1714-1789), philosopher, natural scientist and agronomist, a hundred pages devoted to the cultivation of the vine and also provides valuable tips on how to make wine “special” and “generous” from selected grapes. This wine, produced in the territory of Coriano, from Sangiovese, Cabernet and Merlot, aged in barrels, wants to remember and pay homage to the abbot.

Building a blend means, first of all, you find a track and follow it to the objective end. It is like this that Battarreo born each year: you start with a historical approach with a long French tradition to eventually enter, if necessary, some less orthodox variants.
The year 2007 in this case is the daughter of the most established wine cloth. From a balanced mix of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, it was decided to age for 12 months in oak barrels by dividing the mass half in first passage woods and the other half in second or third generation barrels.
 

The Battarreo 2007 does not come out of the rut.

You start from its deep colour and CHIOSO on which the woods have set the primary components; you can go through its vanilla thickness until you reach the end of his long embrace.
