Sassatelli family obtained Coriano castle at the fall of Malatesta. Their emblem, three golden mountains on a blue field surmounted by two lilies and a heart, has become the civic emblem of the Town Hall.
This wine, produced in accordance with the purest local tradition, is dedicated to Sassatelli. |

Climate and vintage

The year 2009 has seen the known characteristic of a temporary softening of the overall heat had in 2008 and 2007. We are back to the harvest dates better suited to our latitude; and this has enabled us to further exploit the temperatures changes between day and night, and with them the natural fragrances of our core products.
Chronologically the vintage began with the harvest of Cabernet Franc on the 28th of August to continue on the 3rd of September with two Sirah grapes that make up the vineyard of Blessed Henry. The Sangiovese wines was harvested around the 20th of September. All the grapes including Cabernet Sauvignon, last to be brought into the cellar, had high levels sulfites. Different instead the degrees of freshness; from the mellowest one, the Franc, to the most tannic one, the Sangiovese of the Sun. |

Vinification and aging

As we do not show in the company the white grapes, it must be explained that the Sassatello Bianco arrives in our estate as the result of a selection made upstream. The 2009 version has 50% of the International Chardonnay and the more Romagnolo, Trebbiano. Steel is the material that has seen all stages of winemaking. |
